Common questions

Cost, timing, private events, edits and cancellations, and what happens if you were not picked.

The questions chapters ask most about the Events API. If yours is not here, email onboarding@eochapterhubspotrollout.com.

Do I need to be technical?

No. The integration team does the technical part. Your part is to share access to your Eventbrite account once, and the step-by-step guides walk you through it. If you have never heard the word API, the page What is an API? is the place to start.

Does it cost anything?

We do not expect any cost to your chapter, and we do not expect you to need a different Eventbrite plan. The integration team will confirm both before the pilot starts.

Which of my events will members see?

We expect EO members to see the events you publish as public in Eventbrite. The integration team will confirm exactly which events are included before your chapter reaches Live. You will also check a few of your real events with us during the Testing stage.

What about private events?

We expect private and invite-only events to stay private, and not to appear on the 1EL global calendar. The integration team will confirm this before your chapter reaches Live. If you are unsure about an event, keep it private in Eventbrite and ask us.

How long after I post does it appear?

Not instantly. We expect a short delay between posting in Eventbrite and the event appearing on the 1EL global calendar. The integration team will confirm the timing, and you will see it for yourself during the Testing stage.

What if I edit or cancel an event?

Make the change in Eventbrite, as you do today. We expect edits and cancellations to follow on their own, the same way new events do. You will check this with us during the Testing stage.

What if we were not picked for the pilot?

Your Events application stays on file. Later waves open only if the pilot succeeds, and if they do, chapters that applied stay in line. You do not need to apply again, and we will be in touch if a later wave opens.

Can we join if we do not use Eventbrite?

Not in the pilot, which is for chapters on Eventbrite. Apply anyway and name the tool you use. It helps us see where demand is, and we keep your Events application for later waves.
