How the pilot works

The Events API starts small. A first group of five chapters goes ahead of everyone else, so that we learn what works before we open it up. We call that group the pilot wave.

How do you choose the five chapters?

We pick them by hand from the Events applications we receive. We look at two things.

• How ready your chapter is. For example, whether you already post your events in Eventbrite, and whether the person who manages your Eventbrite account can spare about an hour in the next month.
• A mix of chapter sizes. We want small and large chapters in the pilot, so that what we learn works for every chapter.

Does applying early help?

No. It is not first come, first served. Applying early does not move you up, and applying later does not count against you.

What happens after you pick our chapter?

We email you and book a Discovery Call. That is the first of five Events stages, which run from the Discovery Call to Live. We email you each time your chapter moves to the next one. The page The Discovery Call says what we will ask.

What happens after the pilot?

Later waves open only if the pilot succeeds. If they do, chapters that applied stay in line, and you do not need to apply again.
